While the service was created with our own TruePatriot families in mind, we are happy to extend our travel services to all breeds and all families when availability allows.

Travelling within Canada is generally more straightforward than crossing an international border, but there are still airline and transportation requirements that need to be considered.


Depending on the airline and route, pets may be able to travel in the cabin, as checked baggage, or through an airline's cargo service. Restrictions can vary based on the aircraft, destination, pet's size and breed, and even the time of year.


We'll help you navigate the available options and determine what works best for your pet's journey.

International travel requires considerably more preparation.


Every country has its own rules for bringing animals across its borders, and those requirements can change. Depending on the destination, your pet may need specific vaccinations, a microchip, veterinary examinations, bloodwork, health certificates, import permits, government endorsements, or other documentation.


International journeys should be planned well ahead of time. We'll work with you to identify the requirements for your specific destination and make sure the necessary pieces are considered before travel day.

We welcome inquiries from families who need assistance with domestic or international pet travel. Whether you're bringing home a new puppy, relocating with an adult dog, welcoming a rescue, or simply need help getting your pet from one place to another, we'd be happy to discuss the journey.

The Process

Once we know where your puppy is going, we can start looking at the logistics.

We'll consider:

Where are they going?
Your destination, airport options, and how far your puppy needs to travel.


How will they get there?
We look at appropriate flight and/or ground transportation options.


What does the journey require?
Crate requirements, airline rules, veterinary documentation, and destination-specific regulations all need to be considered.


Who is travelling with them?
When a TruePatriot travel companion is being arranged, we coordinate the details so everyone knows where the puppy needs to be and when.


Getting them home
The final part is the one we all look forward to, the puppy arriving safely and being reunited with their new family.

Travel Day

Once the planning is finished, it's time for the actual journey.

Depending on the arrangements, we can assist with getting your pet to the airport, coordinating their travel, accompanying them during the journey, arranging ground transportation, and completing the final hand-off with their family.
